29th November 2016 / Kidding around

Hannah has been undertaking Post Graduate studies at James Cook University. We were asked to create some nice natural images of hannah amongst some of the animals that were within the facility at the Townsville Campus. As it was near the end of the teaching cycle there was only a small herd of goats for us to use. As it turned out they were perfect. A great blend of gorgeous afternoon light, beautiful Hannah and the goats’ insatiable curiosity made the perfect combination, I’m not kidding. :-)

22nd November 2016 / Lionel & Glynis

Lionel & his wife Glynis live in the sticks. They’re the caretakers at a quarry on the outskirts of Townsville and love it. I shot this series for a promotion of the My Health Record Scheme that’s being rolled out Nationally. Lionel has more health problems than you’d care to mention and lives in a place many of us wouldn’t contemplate. Yet he’s happy, he and Glynis love the spot and say they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. It’s good to have a reality check every now and then, to see these guys happy with what they’ve got and in love with each other.

15th November 2016 / Glencore, Ernest Henry Mine

Another successful mining shoot for Glencore at their Cloncurry asset, Ernest Henry Mine. I’ve been photographing at EHM for over a decade and it’s been amazing to see the transformation from an open pit mine to an underground one. Thank you to Vicki and Richard for all your assistance and professionalism, it’s been a pleasure working with you and the rest of the team at Ernest Henry. Here’s to another successful decade!

16th February 2016 / Hutchinson Builders corporate portraits

I do love corporate portraiture. I love working with people and making them look great. The team at Hutchinson Builders were a lot of fun and we had a great afternoon capturing all the staff. Some had more fun than others it would seem from the photos below. But that’s what’s great about this genre. Point a camera at someone and sometimes the most interesting transformation takes place. :-)

12th August 2015 / Queensland Tourism - Ingham Shoot

Queensland Tourism needed some images from the Ingham area to promote the Hinchinbrook Heritage Trail. So off I went for a couple of nights camping and exploring that which the Herbert River Valley has to offer. Getting good weather in that region can be a challenge as the rainfall is some of the highest in Australia. As it turns out I had pristine days with sparkling blue skies. I couldn’t have asked for better. It was great to get to know the area better and to meet some of the local characters. Particular favourites were camping at Broadwater State Forest and having the place completely to myself and exploring the regions’ history at the Herbert River Museum in Halifax.

9th June 2015 / Glencore - Townsville Port

Glencore have recently upgraded their loading facilities at the Townsville Port and I was asked to create some images of the new facility for upcoming publications. I always enjoy heading out to the Port or to any industrial operation for that matter. The scale of the operations are alway overwhelming and I love “getting my teeth into” shooting these giant subjects. Not to mention the views from the top of this giant infrastructure. Thank you to Agata, Avril and Bob as always for their kind assistance thoughout the shoot.

2nd June 2015 / Time Lapse Of Site Rehabilitation

When Caltex wanted their depot at the Townsville Port rehabilitated at the end of their lease they brought in demolition and rehabilitation experts Parsons Brinkhoffer and Liberty Industrial. The whole process only took about 8 weeks and we had a time lapse camera on site for the entire process in order to capture their work.
